Underneath our thoughts and emotions, and even underneath our sensations and perception is the awareness of all these objects. The content of our awareness is not awareness itself. The practice of resting as awareness dates back millennia and is deeply useful in letting go of busyness and noise within the mind and body and distilling to that which is most valuable, the peace and reassurance available here and now, despite the complexities of our lives. It may take a few times to drop into such awareness without a mind narrating what it's found, but when it does, it becomes a resource that is your own and always available. With ongoing attention, it builds resilience, spaciousness, contentment and joy.
